Abnormal spindle-like microcephaly-associated protein(ASPM)gene is the most common autosomal recessive microcephaly mutant gene. Its main function is to correctly guide the movement of the spindle to the poles in mitosis and maintain the equal division of cytoplasm, playing a role in the regulation of the mitotic spindle and the coordination of the mitotic process, and regulating the progress of the cell cycle.ASPM is highly expressed in various malignant tumor tissues, and affects their occurrence, development and prognosis.ASPM is also involved in the repair of tumor cell DNA double-strand breaks, and is related to tumor cell resistance to chemotherapy or radiotherapy. At present, the mechanism of ASPM in human malignant tumors is not clear. In the future,in-depth study of the relationship between ASPM and tumor signaling pathways and its role as tumor treatment target can provide new ideas for the treatment of malignant tumors.
