摘　　要：白廼逸1937年出版的《聊斋志异补译》是首个华人翻译的《聊斋志异》选译本,迄今所有《聊斋志异》英译研究成果对此均未提及。白廼逸生平和《聊斋志异补译》成书经过、《聊斋志异补译》选材特点分析、《聊斋志异补译》翻译特色探讨和白廼逸《聊斋志异》翻译的传播和影响等四个方面可以较为全面地讨论《聊斋志异补译》这颗遗落在《聊斋志异》英译史上的明珠。Some More Stories from the Liao Chai Chih I by James N.Y.Pai(白廼逸)is the first English version of Liaozhai Zhiyi by a Chinese translator.Up to now,however,it has not been mentioned in all the researches on the English translation of Liaozhai Zhiyi,remaining to be a lost pearl in the English translation of Liaozhai Zhiyi.Therefore,this article tries to research it from four aspects.It firstly introduces briefly James N.Y.Pai and how Some More Stories from the Liao Chai Chih I came into being,secondly it analyzes the material-selection features of Some More Stories from the Liao Chai Chih I,thirdly it explores the translation features of Some More Stories from the Liao Chai Chih I,and finally it discusses the dissemination and influence of Some More Stories from the Liao Chai Chih I.
