摘  要:沿着关于艺术定义的追问,本文从艺术作为符号传播活动考察艺术诸定义的偏向,并提出艺术意义在传播过程中涌现的观念,以凸显被诸种艺术定义遮蔽的“媒介性”。媒介性不仅是当代艺术发展的最重要推动力之一,也是内嵌于艺术的基本属性,其与符号形式互为表里。一门将媒介视为艺术内在要素而非外在传播工具的“艺术媒介符号学”尚待建立。An enquiry into the definition of art,this paper examines biases in various definitions of art from the perspective of art as a sign communication activity,and it proposes that artistic meaning emerges from the process of communication.It thereby highlights the characteristic of art as a medium that is obscured by these definitions.Art as a medium is not only one of the most important driving forces for the development of contemporary art but also a basic attribute embedded in art,thus taking both external and internal semiotic forms.A“semiotics of art media”that would regard the media as internal to art rather than an external tool of communication remains to be established.
