摘 要:在《动摇》《霜叶红似二月花》《子夜》等诸多小说中,茅盾不仅塑造了一个士绅人物形象系列,而且叙写了这一阶层自清末以来分化、蜕变的历程。在社会史视野中,进入地方社会空间,辨识茅盾小说中的“士绅”人物形象及其在近代以来的命运变迁轨迹,可以更充分地揭示相关作品的社会历史内涵,进而打开茅盾小说世界中尚未被充分认知的一面。作家对乡绅阶层人物的系统叙写,基于其对地方社会空间的深入体验和记忆,在这一阶层的分化、蜕变背后,更可见近代以来国家与地方、城市与乡村关系调整、转型之迹。茅盾书写宏大社会历史的笔力早已为文学史所承认,其间更蕴含着从中国近现代转型视野进行新的阐释的开阔空间,其具体内涵还需研究者继续发掘。In novels such as Wavering,Frosty Leaves Red as February Flowers and Midnight,Mao Dun not only created a series of characters of the gentry class but also described the differentiation and transformation of the class since the end of the Qing Dynasty.From the perspective of social history,it is necessary to enter the local social space and identify the gentry characters in Mao Dun's novels and their fate trajectories since modern times,which can help reveal the social and historical connotations of relevant works and open up another world of Mao Dun's novels not been fully acknowledged yet.The writer's systematic description of the characters of the gentry class is based on his in-depth experience and memory of the local social space.Behind the differentiation and transformation of the gentry class,we can see the adjustment and transformation of the relationships between the state and the local as well as the city and the countryside since modern times.Mao Dun's ability to write a grand social history has long been recognized by literature history,but there is still wide space to be explored for the new interpretation from the perspective of China's modern transformation.
