摘　　要：孔子学院作为中外人文交流与合作的重要纽带和平台,其初心是帮助各国民众学习中文、了解中华文化,推进中国与世界各国的人文交流与合作,促进多元文化的世界文明发展进步。美国孔子学院数量曾居全球各国之首,但2018年以来数量开始减少,在系统分析其2004~2022年历时发展状况、发展类型及影响因素后发现:国际政治局势的变化和西方传统思维是影响美国孔子学院发展的主要因素,另外美国孔子学院在自身发展过程中也存在一些问题。据此,提出以下建议:科学布局,应需而建;依法合规,规避风险;借力外方,正名孔院;加强交流,协同发展;特色培育,市场运作;深耕教学,需求导向等促进美国孔子学院提质增效的可持续发展策略。As an important link and platform of cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries,the Confucius Institute aims to help the people of the world to learn the Chinese language and culture,promote the cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries as well as the progress of the world civilization with the feature of cultural pluralism.The number of the Confucius Institutes in the United States ranked first in the world in the past,but since 2018 there has been a clear decrease.A systematic analysis of its diachronic development,development types and influencing factors reveals that the change of international political situations and the impacts of traditional Western thinking are the main factors influencing the development of the Confucius Institutes in the United States.In addition,there are some other problems concerning their self-development.The possible solutions include the following:there should be a scientific layout for the real need;the establishment of the Confucius Institute should abide by the American law to avoid risks;there should be no misunderstanding of the Confucius Institute with the help of others;the Confucius Institutes in the United States should enhance exchange and cooperation in development;it is necessary to carry out the marketing operation with typical features;there should be innovations in teaching approaches and development strategies on the basis of satisfying the social needs to promote the sustainable high-quality development of the Confucius Institutes in the United States.
