《论语》中宗教思想关键词的英译探讨——以“天“”命“”鬼“”神”的英译为例

摘　　要：《论语》的英译研究一直是我国典籍翻译研究中的重中之重。在《论语》关键词的翻译上,学者们也开展了诸多探讨,但其探讨的对象多集中于“仁”“礼”“君子”等语汇,很少有学者针对体现孔子宗教思想的关键词进行过梳理。本文拟从“天”“命”“鬼”“神”这四个体现孔子宗教思想的关键词出发,分析理雅各、辜鸿铭及阿瑟·韦利这三位译者对于这四个关键词的处理,比较其优点与不足,并探讨合适的译法,以期能推动中国文化更好地“走出去”。Presently,much scholastic effort has been poured forth towards the English translation of Lun Yu《(论语》).The discussion on the key words translation in this book has also attracted some researchers’attention.Howev⁃er,it should be noted that most of the discussions are limited to the translation of“Ren(仁)”,“Li(礼)”and“Jun Zi(君子)”,and discussions on the key words concerning Confucian religious view is gravely lacking.This thesis focuses on the translation of four key words which are central to Confucius’religious view,namely“Tian(天)”,“Ming(命)”,“Gui(鬼)”and“Shen(神)”,aiming at finding out the most proper way for translation.
