摘　　要：翻译作为一项和语言有同样长的历史的活动,有无数翻译实践者和翻译研究者对它下过定义。如此多的翻译定义是如何发展的?现在翻译活动越来越技术化和大众化,那么未来的翻译定义会如何发展?笔者在对古今中外的翻译定义做一次爬梳整理并在总结前人对翻译定义的分类基础上根据自己的分类标准对翻译定义进行分类探讨,归纳出各个分类下翻译定义的特点,最后根据翻译活动技术化和跨学科化的趋势预测未来翻译定义的发展走向。Translation is an activity that has the same history as human languages,and it has been defined by countless translators and translation researchers.How did so many translation definitions develop?Now that translation activities are becoming more and more technological and popular,how will the definition of translation develop in the future?The author will sort out the translation definitions of ancient and modern China and foreign countries,and on the basis of summarizing the classification of translation definitions by previous scholars,the author has classified and discussed translation definitions according to his own classification standards,and has summarized the characteristics of translation definitions under each classification.Finally,based on the increasingly technological and interdisciplinary trend of translation activities,the author has predicted the development trend of translation definitions in the future.
