摘  要:本研究基于“儒学英文原创文本历时数据库(1690s-2010s)”,考察儒学核心概念“礼”在西方的传播受纳历程。研究发现,在儒学英文原创传播文本中,西方思想和概念体系广泛参与儒学叙事,“礼”的丰富内涵在西方历经了筛选和调适,呈现出独特的过滤和吸收过程:西方在不同时期对“礼”的认识侧重不同,从关注行为层面的“礼”到关注道德层面的“礼”,再到关注“礼”对个体人格塑造的作用,进而重视“礼”在受纳端文化中可能发挥的补缺功能。研究同样发现,儒学核心概念的丰富内涵极易在目标语文化中被肢解和扭曲,因此表达好上位概念以及概念内涵间的联系是中国文化对外传播应认真对待的问题。The paper observes the dissemination and reception of Confucianism concept li in the Western culture through data mining of the texts in the Diachronic Data of Original English Texts on Confucianism(DDETC).The study finds that the West assesses and receives Confucianism within its own cultural framework and the reception of li has been a process that involves filtering and absorption:initially the focus is on li as social behavior,then it turns to li's political and moral function,and eventually the focus is on li as a means of character building and on its value in the west culture.It also finds that the rich connotations of the core concepts of Confucianism are easily dismembered and distorted in the target language culture.Therefore,clearly expressing the core concept and the relationship between the connotations of the concept is an issue that Chinese culture should take seriously in cross-cultural communication.
