摘  要:哈贝马斯所提出的公共领域理论,是一套与现代性休戚相关的民主社会运行机制。从公共领域的概念意涵,以及中国社会的传统观念与社会结构的发展衍进分析,上海“孤岛”(1937-1941)是生成于民国的最后一方公共领域。自公共领域的角度剖析,文学期刊作为“孤岛”公众舆论的最集中表述空间,其时代角色与社会功能均不容小觑。特别是依附于文学期刊的翻译活动,翻译作为外来文化的传输渠道,以及时代转捩点上新知识阶层社会担当的最突出表现方式,成为公共领域在“孤岛”的最有力注解。同时,从公共领域的角度阐释“孤岛”翻译文学期刊的勃兴及其背后的原因,也不失为文学史与翻译史研究中鲜少关注的重要议题。The theory of public sphere put forward by Jürgen Habermas is a set of democratic social institution,which is closely related to modernity.“Gudao”(1937-1941)was the last public sphere existed in the Republic of China,according to the definition of public sphere,the social concept and structure in traditional Chinese society.Literary periodicals,as the most open space in which public opinion can be expressed freely,should not be underestimated in terms of its role and function in the society as well as the perspective of public sphere.Translations,in particular,published in literary periodicals,both as a way of cultural transmission and a social manifestation of the new intelligentsia,could be the most meaningful reflection of“Gudao”.At the same time,exploring the flourish of translations on literary periodicals and the reasons behind that flourish,it would be an interesting and less discussed topic within the study of literature and translation history.
