摘　　要：基于2010年和2015年中国综合社会调查数据,实证分析发现:英语能力对中国居民消费支出具有显著的正向影响,且对生存型消费支出、享受型消费支出和发展型消费支出的影响效果依次增加,表明英语能力提升有利于扩大中国内需及居民消费结构升级.此外,对于不同出生年份的人来说,英语能力对1978年以后出生人群消费支出的影响效果更大.基于现代消费理论,研究还证实英语能力对居民消费的影响渠道不仅是通过财富效应,也体现在提高财富的边际消费倾向方面,表现为英语能力提升有利于增加居民收入水平,增强居民对未来状况的乐观预期,改变居民的储蓄行为以及推动“花明天钱,圆今日梦”的超前消费观念形成.这些发现进一步丰富了语言经济学的研究成果,为考察中国外语学习政策的经济效应贡献了新的证据,也为新时代下中国扩大内需以实现经济“双循环”新发展格局和经济高质量发展提供了一定的决策参考.The paper,through an empirical analysis based on Chinese General Social Survey data conducted in 2010 and 2015,proves that English proficiency has a significant positive impact on household consumption expenditure in China.The effects of English proficiency on residents’living consumption expenditure,enjoying consumption expenditure and developing consumption expenditure increase in turn,indicating that the improvement of English proficiency is conducive to the expansion of China's domestic demand and the upgrading of household consumption structure.In addition,English proficiency has a greater impact on consumption expenditure for people born after 1978.Based on the modern consumption theory,the present study finds that the English proficiency affects household consumption expenditure not only through the wealth effect,but also through increasing the marginal propensity to consumption:Enhancing English proficiency is helpful to raise residents’income level,increase their optimism expectations about future conditions,change their savings behavior and promote the formation of consumption concept on u making tomorrow*s dream come true with todayJ s money”.These findings further enrich the research related to language economics,provide new evidence for the economic effects of foreign language learning policies in China,and provide certain decision reference for China to expand domestic demand and realize the new pattern of economic“double cycle”and high-quality economic development in the new era.
