摘　　要：“爿”,本义为方形的木材,现代辞书注音为“pán”,古代字书注音有二:“读若墙”(qiáng),“读若瓣”(bàn)。从“爿”之本义推断,其“pán”音源于剖木时的“啪”声。从《说文解字》中“爿”部形声字可知,许慎为“爿”字的注音为“读如墙”。考造字之初,“爿”之“墙”音源于木材围墙抵御棍棒武器攻击时的声音。The original meaning of“爿”is square wood.Its phonetic notation in modern dictionaries is“pán”.It has two different phonetic notations in ancient dictionaries,either“pronounced as character墙(qiáng)”or“pronunced as character瓣(bàn)”.The paper infers from its original meaning that its phonetic notation“pán”originated from the sound of splitting wood.Based on the phonetic notations of pictophonetic characters with“爿”in Shuo Wen Jie Zi,Xu Shen phonetically represented“爿”as“pronounced as character墙”.The research on the origin of the character“爿”,its same phonetic notation as character墙originate from the impact sound of wood walls and sticks.
