摘　　要：在《我的安东尼娅》中,薇拉·凯瑟逆写美国化运动倡导的同化逻辑,为不同族裔的外来移民代言,弥补了其在美国文化中失语的边缘化状态。在凯瑟的笔下,移民文化并不是美国文化的“他者”,而是具有主体性的存在。小说中不同故事穿插交叠,形成了不同移民文化间交织碰撞的杂语张力,揭示出美国文化与移民文化并非二元对立,而是“你中有我”“我中有你”的动态生成关系。在这一关系中,凯瑟认为,彼此间的承认至关重要,对移民的承认不仅是不同文化间对话的伦理基础,也是美国文化持续发展的不竭动力。通过与美国化运动的对话与协商,凯瑟肯定了不同族裔移民的主体性身份,揭示出不同族裔移民文化在美国文化中的重要地位。In My ántonia,Willa Cather counter-writes the homogenization logic in Americanization Movement and speaks for immigrants in order to redeem them from their marginality.In Cather’s novel immigrants are not depicted as the marginalized Other,but acknowledged as real subjects.The novel is interwoven with a wide array of stories,forming a critical tension of heteroglossia in which voices from different ethnic groups clash and merge.Thus,the critical tension reveals the relation between the immigrant cultures and American culture is not of a binary opposition,but a regenerative dialectic.Cather holds that recognition counts in human relationship,and the recognition for immigrants is not only the ethical basis in intercultural communication,but also the pushing force for American culture.Through negotiating with the Americanization Movement,different immigrants are recognized,and the existential importance of different immigrant cultures is stressed.
