Objective To compare the efficacy of agomelatine and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors(SSRIs)in the treatment of depression, and to provide evidence-based medicine reference for clinical treatment. Methods English literature was retrieved through Medline,Pub Med and Wiley online library databases, the Hamilton depression scale(HAMD)and Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA)score reduction were used as improvement indicators to compare the efficacy of agomelatine and SSRI in the treatment of depressive symptoms and anxiety symptoms,Rev man 5.2 statistical software was used for Meta analysis. Results Six articles that met the criteria were finally included. There was no significant difference(P>0.05)in the improvement effect of agomelatine and SSRIs on depressive symptoms[SMD=0.06(95%CI:-0.03,0.14)]and anxiety symptoms[MD=0.12(95%CI:-0.82,1.06)].Conclusion The efficacy of agomelatine and SSRIs in the treatment of depression is comparable.
