古越语视野下的“朱方”“丹徒”地名释义

摘　　要：本文从古越语的角度出发,通过相关汉字上古音与侗台语族词汇语音的比较,结合镇江历史地理事实,指出“朱方”“丹徒”应是古越语地名的汉字记音,分别意为“主管江岸的官守”和“控扼江河的城关”,其内涵与后世出现的汉语地名“镇江”一脉相通。This article attempts to interpret the two ancient place names Zhufang朱方and Dantu丹徒from the perspective of the ancient Yue language.Based on a comparison of the Old Chinese sounds of the characters in the two place names with sounds of correspondent Kam-Tai words,and with the facts of Zhenjiang’s historical geography taken into consideration,the author proposes that Zhufang and Dantu are two ancient Yue place names transcribed in Chinese characters,meaning respectively“the official in charge of coastal defense”and“the pass for river defense”,being intrinsically the same with the place name Zhenjiang in Chinese which emerged later in history.
