摘　　要：首位来华新教传教士马礼逊编纂的《华英字典》是世界上第一部汉英—英汉字典。马礼逊在编纂《字典》时虽然借鉴了《康熙字典》的释义和部分例证,但并不是完全依赖《康熙字典》,而是突破了传统字书只收录雅言以及引经据典的框框,补充了很多《康熙字典》所没有的日常用词以及口语俗语。《华英字典》所收俗词语类型丰富,包括各类熟语、方言词语以及各类民俗文化词语。与同时期的清代俗语类著作相比,马礼逊《华英字典》俗语收录及阐释也具有自己非常明显的特点。As the first protestant missionary that came to China, Robert Morrison compiled the first Chinese-English Dictionary. He did not rely on the Kangxi Dictionary completely. Instead, he broke through the frame of the traditional dictionary that only included elegant words, and added many daily words and colloquial expressions that were not compiled in the Kangxi Dictionary. There are various types of popular words in Chinese-English Dictionary, including idioms, dialects, and folk words. Compared with other works of colloquialism in the Qing Dynasty, the collection and interpretation of colloquialism in Morrison’s Chinese-English Dictionary have its own distinct characteristics.
