摘　　要：反向词典可以根据用户输入的自然语言描述来查找与输入描述语义一致的词语。反向词典在解决暂时性忘词、缓解“网络失语症”、帮助语言学习者学习巩固词汇等方面有重要的使用价值。文章介绍了WantWords这一世界上首个支持汉语和英汉/汉英跨语言查询的反向词典,阐述了其功能、基本实现原理、现状及未来发展方向。A reverse dictionary takes the descriptions of words as input and outputs words semantically matching the input descriptions.Reverse dictionaries have great practical value such as solving the tip-of-the-tongue problem,alleviating cyberphasia,and helping new language learners.In this paper,we introduce WantWords,the first reverse dictionary that supports Chinese,English-Chinese,and Chinese-English cross-lingual reverse dictionary queries.We describe its functions,basic implementation mechanism,current status,and future development.
