摘 要:文学作品中的情感研究属于认知文学批评范式之一,文章选取理查森的《帕梅拉》和奥斯丁的《爱玛》进行情感认知对比分析,探讨两位女主人公对爱的认知过程和特征。就情感强度而言,两书都突出了情感和理性认知内在的混合性、不稳定性和生成性。从书信体到自由间接引语的话语形式发展,再到人物内心情感心智发展,体现了文学情感历史的继承性和发展性,对文学情感叙事批评有所启发。Affective studies in literature is one of the major paradigms of cognitive literary criticism.This paper selects Richardson’s Pamela and Austen’s Emma for constrastive analysis,and attempts to explore the cognitive processes and features of the two heroines’attitudes towards love.In terms of emotional intensity,they all highlight a combination of emotional impulses and rational cognition processing,which features an inherent instability and generative nature of affective cognition.The development of linguistic form from epistolary writing to free indirect speech,and then to the characters’affective cognition maturation reflects the traces and inheritance of emotions in literary history,which has been inspiring the criticism of affective narratives.
