摘　　要：INTRODUCTION This special issue of Integrative Zoology(the official journal of the International Society of Zoological Sciences and the Institute of Zoology,Chinese Academy of Sciences)presents recent research progress on whales,dolphins,and porpoises,with focus on those in relatively less investigated waters,such as waters off China,Sri Lanka,and Chile.In this issue,we showed the use of diverse research methods,analytical technologies,and multi-disciplinary tools,with involvement of both large whales,such as the blue whale(Balaenoptera musculus).
