摘　　要：英国社会学家克里斯·希林的身体社会学理论认为身体是社会效应的定位场所,同时又是型塑社会的力量。把《毛猿》纳入身体社会学的分析框架,分析《毛猿》中的工作态身体(working bodies)问题,考察工作场所与工作内容对剧中人物的身体定位效应以及身体功夫(body work)与工作的互动。在前工业社会,工作和身体具有同一性。在高度工业社会,身体功夫与工作失去了同一性,剧中人扬克被贬低为现代的非人。According to the theory in The Sociology of the Body by British sociologist Chris Schilling,the body is not only the location of social effects but also the power to shape the society.By putting The Hairy Ape into the analytical framework of body sociology,this paper analyzes the problem of working bodies in The Hairy Ape and investigates the effect of workplace and work on body positioning of characters in the play and the interaction between body work and work.It is found that in the pre-industrial society,body agrees with work,while body conflicts with work in the highly industrial society.So Yank in the play was degraded as a modern non-human.
