左拉《实验小说论》最早汉译本版本辨伪

摘　　要：《实验小说论》最早汉译本存在两个内容一致、署名各异的版本:署名“修勺译”的美的书店本与署名“张资平译”的新文化书局本。本文先从底本语言、文学渊源等方面指出新文化书局本存在的疑点,再从副文本、出版经过等方面对美的书店本加以考述,最终得出结论:美的书店修勺译本是有据可查的真本,新文化书局“张资平译本”是托名张资平的伪本。时至今日,《实验小说论》伪本仍被当作“民国西学汉译要籍”加以重版,也反映出学界史料辨伪意识较为薄弱。去伪存真,确保史料的可靠性,应成为文学研究的第一步。The first Chinese translation of The Experimental Novel has two editions,identical in content,albeit completed by two different translators.One of them was translated by Xiushao and published by the Meide bookstore.The other was presumably translated by Zhang Ziping and published by the Xinwenhua publishing house.This article first probes the source language,literary affinity and other aspects of the Xinwenhua edition and sheds light on its suspicious points.It then examines he Meide edition through the prism of its paratext and its publishing process.Our conclusion is that the Meide edition is authentic and the Xinwenhua edition has been falsely attributed to Zhang Ziping.Unfortunately,this falsified Chinese version of The Experimental Novel is being reissued as“a Western Classic Chinese Translation of the Era of the Republic of China”.The academic community has thus failed in its mission.Distinguishing true historical documents from false ones should be our first step in literary study.
