摘　　要：文化作品翻译是文化传播与融合的桥梁。文化译本的质量与数量是影响文化传播的重要因素。印度史诗《摩诃婆罗多》《罗摩衍那》在英国的引介远远早于美国,而美国在20世纪中期以后对两部史诗的译介和传播超越了英国。对译本文化的研究以及对原作的再创作、再改编是他族文化得以广泛传播的路径。他族文化被传入民族生活是他族文化被接受的体现。目前这两部史诗已经进入英国、北美地区一些高校文学课堂,而且进入历史、宗教、艺术、社会、伦理等研究领域。以《摩诃婆罗多》《罗摩衍那》为基础的戏剧、电影和电视剧在英国和北美地区也不断推出、公演并受到广泛好评。以史料为基础,梳理印度史诗《摩诃婆罗多》《罗摩衍那》在英国和北美地区的翻译、传播和接受情况,对我国文化对外传播交流具有借鉴价值。Cultural translation is the bridge of cultural communication and integration. The quality and quantity of the translation of culture-loaded literary works are important factors affecting cultural communication. The introduction of the two Indian epics Mahabharata and Ramayana in UK is far earlier than that in the United States, while since mid-20 th century, the United States surpassed UK in this field. The study of the culture embodied in the translated version and the re-creation and re-adaptation of the original work are the paths for the wide dissemination of a foreign culture. The introduction of an alien culture into a nation’s life is a way for people to accept the culture. Nowadays, the two epics have entered some college literature classes both in UK and North America, and the texts are also discussed in the research fields such as history, religion, art, society, ethics and so on. Plays, films and TV series based on Mahabharata and Ramayana have also been launched, premiered and widely praised in UK and North America. Based on historical materials, this is a literature review about the translation, dissemination and acceptance of the two Indian epics in UK and North America, with the view to provide a perspective reference for the communication and exchange of Chinese culture with other cultures.
