摘  要:《尚书》为“七经之冠冕”,是中华文化的元典,也是研究上古时期服饰文化的重要史料。通过诠释《尚书》服饰文化核心词汇,对比分析跨文化语境下理雅各(James Legge)和彭马田(Martin Palmer)对服饰文化的英译传播策略,揭示译者如何处理汉民族服饰文化和译语文化之间的不对称性。两位译者分别采用了文化协调和文化过滤策略,两个译本各具特色;文化传播策略差异的背后原因是译者的历史时代背景、翻译目的和个体身份特征各异。Shang Shu, which is“the crown of Seven Confucian classics works”and the classical canon of Chinese culture, is also an important historical data of the study of dressing culture in ancient times. By interpreting the cultural core vocabulary of dressing in Shang Shu, this paper makes a comparative analysis of James Legge’s and Martin Palmer’s translation and communication strategies of dressing culture in crosscultural context to reveals how translators deal with incompatibilities between the Chinese dressing culture and the target language culture. The two translators adopt cultural coordination and cultural filtering strategies respectively. Two versions have their own characteristics. The reasons behind the differences in cultural communication strategies are the translators’ different historical backgrounds, translation goals and individual identity characteristics.
