摘　　要：China’s tremendous economic and cultural progress since the initiation of the reforms and opening up process has been accompanied by the steady expansion of its scientific research capabilities.We selected Journal of Environmental Sciences and Environmental Science&Technology(hereinafter referred to as JES and ES&T,respectively)as two representative journals for assessing the progress and impact of research in the field of environmental science in China.
