As local epidemic outbreaks continue to occur in China,it is important to pay attention to the protection and work behavior of Wuhan employees who have already experienced outbreaks to prevent and control the epidemic.Based on conservation of resources(COR)theory, this study hypothesizes that Covid-19 anxiety has a significant effect on protective behaviors and work outcomes of Wuhan employees, and the effect on protective behaviors is greater than that on work outcomes.During the domestic local epidemic in early 2021,a 5-day survey of 52 Wuhan employees found that daily Covid-19 anxiety significantly improved Wuhan employees’Covid-19 protection behavior through daily Covid-19 exhaustion. However,Wuhan employees’daily work output was not affected by the epidemic, including task performance, innovation performance,task-oriented and interpersonal-oriented helping behaviors. This study reveals the cautious attitude of Wuhan employees who had direct experience with the 2020 Covid-19 epidemic towards the follow-up epidemic protection,as well as the“anti-disturbance”of their work results to the subsequent epidemic.Based on the current situation, the research discusses the practical significance of the research results for epidemic prevention and control and economic recovery.
