摘 要:20世纪初的“学衡派”是中国现代思想史上非常奇特的文化守成主义和文化整体主义的代表。英美留学体验给了他们比较完整的学科专业训练,他们在借鉴西方经验的同时,清醒地看到西方近代文化的缺点,因此在内容上反对以独取某民族的文化思想为认知旨归,在时间上反对以近代西方文化代表整个西方文化。作为能指的“希腊”是“中国”这个更大能指符号的初始创设,所指均是一种“非西方”的自我现代化的可能。从古希腊到原始儒学,正是“学衡派”孜孜不倦寻求中国现代化的思想路径。Xueheng School of the early 20th century is a very peculiar representative of cultural conformism and cultural holism in the history of modern Chinese thought. The experience of studying abroad in Britain and America provided them with professional training in different subjects with relatively complete systems. They borrowed much form Western experience in study and pinpointed the shortcomings of modern Western culture at the same time. Therefore, they opposed to taking the cultural thought of a certain nationality as their cognitive objective in terms of content, and opposed to representing the whole Western culture by modern Western culture in terms of time. Greek as a signifier is the initial creation of the larger signifier China, which refers to the possibility of a “non-Western” self-modernization. From ancient Greece to primitive Confucianism, it is the ideological path that Xueheng school has tirelessly sought to modernize China.
