In this study,we propose a theoretical framework with which to explore a)whether the opposing sides in the doctor-patient relation view the same news coverage in different ways;b)whether perceptions of media bias influence their perceived public opinion. We sampled licensed physicians and non-physicians from China for an online experiment. Our findings showed that relative hostile media effects exist in the doctor-patient relationship in China. We also found that relative hostile media effect was positively associated with people􀆳s perception of public opinion in the news context.
