摘 要:《极花》是贾平凹于2016年由人民文学出版社出版的一部现实主义长篇小说,小说以被拐卖女孩胡蝶为透视点展开叙事,叙写了胡蝶从被诱惑、拐卖、强暴、梦境出逃到最终回到被拐卖村庄的故事。贾平凹以水墨而文学,以变异而修辞,直击胡蝶灵魂深处,探察人口拐卖这一世界性问题。小说语言厚实灵动,情感细腻绵长,在现代与传统之间描摹出一幅水墨风俗画卷。本文在挖掘贾平凹异质性修辞魅力的基础上,探索英国著名翻译家韩斌(Nicky Harman)在《极花》英译中对差异伦理、创造性叛逆和重写等翻译策略的实践过程,管窥中国现代文学在西方的翻译与传播。Ji Hua,published by People’s Literature Publishing House in 2016,is a realistic novel written by Jia Pingwa.The novel is a fictionalized first-person account of the protagonist Butterfl y who gets lured away and then is abducted and sold into marriage in a remote,barren hamlet where she is imprisoned and raped.Descending into madness,Butterfly hallucinates an abortive rescue attempt and comes to accept the inescapability of living the rest of her life in the village.Jia Pingwa,by invocating ink wash painting as an inspiration and defamiliarizing rhetoric,explores the soul of the protagonist to tackle the heavy global issue of human traffi cking.The novel is notable for its subtle emotions and the skills with which he unravels the threads of customs that cause the archaic and the modern to clash.This article,while investigating Jia Pingwa’s deviational rhetorical operations for the manipulation and variation of discourse across a vast array of linguistic levels,examines award-winning translator Nicky Harman’s creative rewriting of ethics difference in translating the novel.It offers a glimpse into the translation and dissemination of contemporary Chinese literature in the West.
