摘 要:传统相声是中国传统民间文艺的瑰宝,其艺术性之一在于具有矛盾性、通俗性、默会性和启示性的幽默,而这些正是相声英译的一大难题。本研究以相声幽默特性为聚焦点,结合相声幽默的本质特征及其翻译实践,将传统译论中的“信达雅”和“信达切”原则拓展发展为相声幽默英译的“信达切”新理念,即“形异而功能信”“言达而意通顺”“适切而传播畅”。本文认为,相声翻译及对外传播不应简单套用现有翻译理论概念,而是应从相声自身的艺术特征出发,在翻译实践中进一步认识其艺术特征与英译难点,构建出具有可操作性和推广意义的相声幽默英译新理念,从而在翻译理论和翻译实践上均具有创新性的启示意义。Traditional crosstalk is the treasure of folk literature and art in traditional Chinese culture.One of its artistry lies in its contradictory,popular,tacit and enlightening humor,which is a huge problem in crosstalk C-E translation.This study focuses on the humorous characteristics of cross talk,in accordance with the essential characteristics of crosstalk humor and its translation practice,expands and develops Yan Fu’s“Faithfulness,Expressiveness and Elegance”Principles and then develops it into the three new concepts of“Faithfulness,Expressiveness and Appropriateness”for translating crosstalk humor.In this paper,crosstalk translation and its international communication should not simply apply the existing translation theoretical concepts,but should further understand the artistic characteristics of crosstalk itself and the difficulties of translation in practice,and construct a new concept of crosstalk humors’C-E translation with operability and promotion significance.Thus,it has innovative enlightenment significance in both translation theory and translation practice.
