摘 要:罗伯特·波义耳的代表作《怀疑的化学家》中,关于植物生长的论述只占很短的篇幅,但与此相关的对水的认识却贯穿始终。植物生长实验促进了他对微粒理论的探索与思考,而他对水的认识则是我们理解其思想体系的一把钥匙。根据原始文献的相关记录分析,书中关于植物生长的论述并不完全是基于真实实验。波义耳通过植物水生长实验研究水的嬗变过程,并试图探究水的本质。In Boyle’s masterpiece,The Sceptical Chymist,the discussion on plant growth only occupies a short space,but the understanding of water runs through the whole book.His findings on plant growth were widely influential in providing empirical support for the corpuscular doctrine,and his knowledge of water is the key to our understanding of his ideology.According to the analysis of relevant records in the original materials,the discussion about plant growth in the book is not entirely based on real experiments.Boyle studied the transmutation of water through the plant-water growth experiment,and tried to explore the essence of water.
