Inspection well cover, referred to as"manhole cover",is part of the equipment that transfers or controls the urban sewers, communication optical cables and other underground pipelines, one of the important infrastructures of municipal construction projects. In recent years, many countries and regions have paid close attention to the inspection well cover as a medium for the image of the urban public environment, and a series of design and public art activities have been carried out accordingly.Japan has accumulated rich experience in this aspect,as they have designed regional visual patterns on the manhole cover to intervene in the public space, built the sewer publicity platform and held the"manhole cover summit".In addition to enhancing the regional value, they also arouse the public attention to the underground space culture of municipal construction, and propose new thinking:how can the neglected.things in life become the resource of public art creation?
