功能派翻译理论视角下的《论语》选段英译版本评析

摘　　要：《论语》是反映中国古代儒家思想的经典之作,其翻译的目的是传播中国传统思想和博大文化,促进世界不同文化之间的沟通与交流。《论语》译文应充分传递原文文本内容及其文化内涵,遵循传播源语文化和丰富目的语文化的目的。功能派翻译理论正是以翻译目的为核心的翻译理论,不仅为翻译批评研究提供了新的视角,同时在促进译者提高翻译质量方面也将起到重要的作用。基于此,该文将以功能派翻译理论为视角,评析《论语》选段的不同英译版本。The Analects is a classic work reflecting ancient Chinese Confucianism.Its translation aims to spread traditional Chinese thoughts and extensive culture and promote communication and exchanges among different cultures in the world.The translation of The Analects should fully convey the content and cultural connotation of the original text,and follow the purpose of spreading the culture of the source language and enriching that of the target language.Functionalist translation theory is a theory with the purpose of translation as its core,which not only provides a new perspective for the study of translation criticism,but also plays an important role in promoting translators to improve the quality of translation.From the perspective of functionalist translation theory,this paper will analyze different English translations of selected passages from The Analects.
