摘　　要：在1916年之前,钱玄同“专以保存国粹为职志”,主张冠裳、礼仪、名物、文字、书法、出版、教育等全面复古。其中,以“厘正字体“”废楷用篆”为中心的文字复古是其复古思想的核心。而书法、出版、教育等方面的复古,则是文字复古主张的实践和推广:钱玄同的早期书法活动既是他“废楷用篆”主张的实践,也是清中期以来学者书家群体中好古尚奇书风的延续《;论书局编印事》倡导印书局亟当自铸字模、首应出版字书,体现了钱玄同推广文字复古的努力;钱玄同在1908年到1916年间对文字教育的思考,及其《中小学校改良国文教授并加课语言文字学议》《高等师范学校英语部及历史地理部国文教授法草案》等文,体现了他试图通过教育来推广文字复古实践的努力。Before 1916, Qian Xuantong advocated a comprehensive restoration of ancient Chinese culture, such as clothes, etiquette, famous objects, writing, calligraphy, publishing, education and so on. Among them, the restoration of ancient Chinese characters, which centered on “correcting Chinese characters” and “abolishing regular script and using seal script”, is the core of his retro thought. The restoration of ancient Chinese calligraphy, publishing and education are the practices and promotion of character restoration. Qian Xuantong’s early calligraphy activities not only were the practice of his idea of “abolishing regular script and using seal script”, but also the continuation of scholars fonding the calligraphy style of ancient Chinese character in the late Qing Dynasty. The paper On the Compilation and Printing of the Publishing House advocates that publishing house should make its own font and publish dictionary, which reflects his efforts to promote the restoration of ancient characters. Qian Xuantong’s thoughts on Chinese characters education from 1908 to 1916, as well as his articles On Improving Chinese Language Teaching and Adding Courses in Elementary and Secondary Schools, and The Draft Law on Chinese Language Teaching in English Department, History and Geography Department of Normal Universities, all reflect his efforts to promote the restoration of ancient Chinese.
