摘　　要：在伍尔夫的文学批评随笔中,乔叟是诗人,有着杰出的说书人天赋,其作品有着惊人的多样性和偏偏的力量。在布鲁姆的著作和评论中,乔叟是具有宏大意识的大诗人,创造了英语世界中仅次于莎士比亚的人物形象,“是莎士比亚的伟大源泉”。伍尔夫和布鲁姆的批评呈现出不同的风格:伍尔夫是作家,其文学批评是印象批评,其随笔以感性的直觉印象方式,写出了乔叟的天赋和诗人魔力;布鲁姆是文学理论家和有天赋的批评家,其文章以充满激情的思辨和活力充沛的诠释,写出了乔叟作品何以是经典,何以是伟大史诗。伍尔夫和布鲁姆关于乔叟及其作品的印象与阐释,本质上也是“诗”与“思”的对话。In Woolf's literary critical essays,Chaucer is a poet with outstanding talent of a storyteller,and his works have amazing diversity and power.In Bloom's works and commentaries,Chaucer is a great poet with a grand consciousness,who created literary figures second only to those created by Shakespeare in the English-speaking world and"is the source of Shakespeare's greatness".Woolf's and Bloom's criticism presents different styles:Woolf is a writer,and his literary criticism is impressionistic criticism.His essays show Chaucer's genius and magic in the way of perceptual intuition.Bloom is a literary theorist and gifted critic whose essays,with passionate speculation and energetic interpretation,explain what makes Chaucer's work a classic and what makes it a great epic.Woolf's and Bloom's impression and interpretation of Chaucer and his works are essentially a dialogue between"poetry"and"thought".
