摘 要:航海叙事在西方源远流长,是观察人物进行远距离位移,从海外为民族国家获取蜕变契机的经典视角。作为海上民族,英格兰的国家发展与航海密不可分。自都铎王朝伊始英格兰逐渐唤醒民族身份并把目光投向海平线起,远洋航行成为其发展的必经之路。莎士比亚的《暴风雨》围绕海船和海岛两大航海要素讲述被打断的一次跨国航行,以人物的航海经历反映英格兰在海外扩张上升期的民族国家构建。航行中的王船作为城邦之舟的变形,映射了十六七世纪的英格兰如何依托岛屿,以海洋主权、海洋经济、海洋身份浇灌其民族国家意识。The voyage narrative has a long history in the Western literary tradition.It is a classic view through which characters can be observed how to move far away and obtain opportunities for the transformation of their nations from overseas experiences.As a nation surrounded by sea,England’s national development is inseparable from voyage.Since the beginning of the Tudor Dynasty when England gradually awakened its national identity and turned its attention from Europe to the sea horizon,nautical navigation has become the only way for England to develop.Shakespeare’s The Tempest unfolds an interrupted cross-border voyage by focusing on the ship and the island as two elements to reveal England’s national construction in the rising phase of overseas expansion through the characters’sailing experience.The royal vessel in the voyage,being the embodiment of the city-state ship,reflects how England relies on maritime politics,economy and identity to nourish its national consciousness based on islands in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
