摘　　要：作为美国历史最悠久的拉丁裔非政府组织之一,拉丁裔美国公民同盟在推动墨西哥裔美国人教育发展方面发挥了重要作用。面对墨西哥裔美国人存在的教育资源匮乏、种族隔离严重、墨西哥裔本身对教育不够重视等一系列教育问题,拉丁裔美国公民同盟从学前教育、基础教育、高等教育三个层面通过多种方式着力提升墨西哥裔的教育水平。同盟提升墨西哥裔教育的目标是让墨西哥裔接受美国主流社会的价值观,成为被美国主流社会接受的合格公民。然而在种族不平等的社会中,同盟的愿望注定无法实现。As one of the oldest Latin nongovernmental organizations in the United States,The League of United Latin American Citizens(LULAC)has played an important role in advancing Mexican-American education.The education of Mexican Americans has a series of problems,such as the lack of educational resources,severe segregation,Mexicans themselves do not pay enough attention to education and so on.Faced with these educational problems,the LULAC improved Mexican-American education in various ways from three levels:preschool education,basic education and higher education.The goal of the LULAC is to improve the education of Mexican Americans,assimilate them into eligible American citizens,and improve the status of the Mexican community.But in a racially unequal society,the hope is doomed to fail.
