摘　　要：近代中国的社会巨变打破了持久而稳定的文化基础和社会结构,与传统的断裂将人们带入了一种前所未有的身份焦虑和文化危机之中。在新旧文化的碰撞与冲击下,社会结构、价值观念乃至人们的日常生活都发生了微妙的变化。这些变化的一个重要结果,就是公共意识的兴起和公共空间的增长。这种公共性在为传统文化注入现代精神的同时,也成为传统与现代最为明显的分野,在社会文化和价值观念层面为国人开启了一种接近于公共生活的模式。虽然其在中国的发展仅仅是一种雏形,但也为近代公民意识的萌芽和公民道德教育的发展奠定了重要思想基础。The great social changes in modern China broke the lasting and stable cultural foundation and social structure, and the rupture with tradition has brought people into an unprecedented identity anxiety and cultural crisis.Under the collision and impact of the old and new cultures, subtle changes have taken place in social structure, values and even people’s daily life.An important result of these changes is the rise of public consciousness and the growth of public space.Whiling injecting modern spirit into traditional culture, this publicity has also become the most obvious distinction between tradition and modernity, opening up a mode of public life for Chinese people in terms of social culture and values.Although its development in China is still at a rudimentary stage, it has laid an important ideological foundation for the germination of modern civic consciousness and the development of civic moral education.
