摘　　要：读古书须明通假,这是因为古代典籍尤其是先秦两汉典籍用字并不划一,存在大量的通假、假借、异文等文字现象。而这些假借字、通假字、异文,大多存录于古注、《经典释文》、他书引文等材料中,亟待学者厘为一编。前人在这方面做的工作远远不够,尚不能满足今人阅读古书的需要。This article looks back on the compiling, the first and the follow-up editions of Guzi Tongjia Huidian(A Compilation of Interchangeable Ancient Chinese Characters). It shows how Gao Heng, Dong Zhi’an, Wang Peiyuan and others worked successively to publish the Huidian and their teacher-student friendship.
