摘　　要：美国当代作家保罗·奥斯特的小说《4321》批判性重返美国越南战争时期,再现了美国人的政治生活与精神生活状况。该小说聚焦美国国家信念裂痕,借主人公弗格森们对美国政治的观察与记录,批驳民粹主义浪潮、激进爱国主义与种族主义对国家信念的巨大破坏,揭示其政治根源。与此同时,小说也批判了后“9·11”时代的美国国家政治方针影响下的畸形发展现状。在叙述国家信念出现巨大裂痕的同时,小说进而体现了作者对美国二战后延续至今的国家与民族问题的反思,为全面客观地审视当代美国政治现状提供了文学观察的新向度。In his novel 4321,Paul Auster turns to the United States during the Vietnam War with criticism,representing the political and spiritual life of Americans.By focusing on the rift in national beliefs,the novel refutes the huge destruction of national beliefs by populism,radical patriotism and racism through the protagnists Fergusons’observations and records of American politics,and reveals the political roots of all the deteriorations.At the same time,it criticizes the abnormal development incurred by the US national political policies in the post-9/11 era.While narrating the huge rift in national beliefs,the novel actually voices the author’s concerns about and interrogations of the national and ethnic issues that have troubled the United States since World War II,providing a new dimension of reviewing contemporary American political situation.
