摘　　要：1928年美国建筑理论家亨利·拉塞尔·希契柯克在《建筑实录》杂志上发表了美国建筑理论界第一篇深入分析西方现代建筑运动的文章,在美国建筑现代转向进程中具有里程碑意义,然而由于对国际风格理论的争议,导致我们并未对这位建筑理论家给予足够的关注。本文阐述了希契柯克1928年现代建筑理论的主要内容,并将它与20世纪30、40年代欧洲第一代现代建筑史的代表作进行比较,分析其理论特点和局限。然后,进一步分析了希契柯克早期现代建筑理论和在它基础之上发展出的1932年国际风格理论之间的差异,提出希契科克早期现代建筑理论的历史价值。In 1928,Henry Russell Hitchcock,an American architectural theorist,published the first in-depth analysis of the western modern architectural movement in the journal of Architectural Records,which was a milestone in the process of the modern transformation of American architecture.How-ever,due to the controversy over the international style theory,we did not pay enough attention to this architectural theorist.This paper expounds the main contents of Hitchcock's mod-ern architecture theory in 1928,and compares it with the rep-resentative works of the first generation of European modern architecture history in the 1930s and 1940s,and analyzes its theoretical characteristics and limitations.Then,it further ana-lyzes the difference between Hitchcock's early modern archi-tecture theory and the 1932 International Style theory based on it,and puts forward the historical value of Hitchcock's early modern architecture theory.
