摘　　要：新晋“新移民”文学作家凌岚的新作《海中白象》以离散人生为书写对象,展示了从中国“离散”到美国的新移民的生活状态及离散心态,揭露了美国华人社区乃至整个美国当下所面临的社会问题。本文尝试分析作者如何在该作品中以“离散”主题为素材表现人性的思考、生命的价值,同时也尝试讨论作品中的情感书写风格和作品的诗意表现,唤起读者对新移民作家作品的艺术审美和普遍人文关怀的重视。The White Elephant in the Sea written by the new immigrant writer Ling Lan is based on the diaspora life, depicting the life and diaspora psychology of the new immigrants who left China for America. The works also reveals the social problems faced by the Chinese American communities and even the whole American society. This thesis tries to analyze how the author expresses her thoughts on human nature and the value of life on the basis of the theme of diaspora. Besides, it also tries to probe into the situational writing style and aesthetic expression of this work, so as to arouse reader’s awareness of the artistic aesthetics in the new immigrant writers’ works and attach importance to the humanism embodied in the works.
