摘　　要：典故是诗人抒情达意的一个独特手法。作为一种比兴或隐喻(metaphor),它颇能体现诗歌语言的特色,因此在中英诗歌中都被广泛应用。通过比较中英诗歌中的典故,分析中英诗歌中典故的特色、在诗歌中的作用等,不仅能够加深对中英诗歌的认识,还可了解它们各自的文化背景与特点。Allusion is a special form of poetic expression. As a type of metaphorical and symbolic device, it manifestly embodies the nature of poetic language;as a result, it is widely used both in Chinese and English poetry. This essay explores the special characteristics of allusion in Chinese and English poetry and the light they shed on these two poetic traditions.
