摘　　要：对英语中否定的表达手法进行了概述,主要介绍了否定含义的介词及介词性的短语的用法,并着重对but与than的否定用法及其在句子中的含义进行了较为详细的分析与考证。This paper gives an overview of negative expressions in English language.Examples are given to illustrate the usage of prepositions with negative meanings and prepositional phrases.This paper mainly makes a detailed explanation of the usage of the two words“but”and“than”as negative meanings according to different parts of speech of the two words,and makes analyses of English thinking based on the relevant English sentence structure.
