《论语》翻译中变异现象的美学分析——以林语堂《论语》英译本为例

摘　　要：翻译不仅是语言形式的转换过程,同时也是文化意识的交融和审美风格的再度创造过程,变异在其中随处可见。从美学视角出发,以林语堂《论语》英译本为例,对译本中出现的变异现象进行研究:即译者从自身的审美经验和诗学立场出发,给译文涂上了浓烈的个人色彩,不仅对原文的语言形式、语言风格进行改写,而且还重塑了译本中的孔子形象。译本中字词“句化”、语言风格“幽默化”以及人物形象“幽默化”现象的出现,与译者通俗化的美学趣味密切相关。译者作为审美主体在翻译过程中往往会根据自身的美学趣味去理解、品鉴、选择和过滤原本承载的美学信息,从而使译本发生新的美学变异,给译文带去更多美学感受。Translation is not only a process of language conversion,but also the integration of cultural consciousness and the re-creation process of aesthetic style so that variances can be seen everywhere.This study takes Lin Yutang’s English translation of The Analects as the research object,and investigates the variances of the translation from the perspective of aesthetic.Under the influence of the translator’s own aesthetic experience and poetic stance,the translator not only rewrites the language forms and style of the original text,but also reshapes the image of Confucius in the translation,which showing many characteristics of aesthetic variance.Besides,the translator adopts the method of translating philosophical terms and culture-loaded words with sentences,pays special attention to the adjustment of language style by using humor language,and creates the new type of image of Confucius with wit and humor,all of which are closely related to the translator’s popular aesthetic taste.Overall,the translator,as aesthetic subjects,tends to understand,appreciate,select and filter the aesthetic information of the original text according to his own aesthetic taste,thus causing new aesthetic variances in the translation of The Analects with more aesthetic feelings.
