摘 要:梁启超在《清代学术概论》中对文艺复兴概念的使用,与他1919年的欧洲之行有关。必须把此书与蒋百里的《欧洲文艺复兴史》和他本人的《欧游心影录》对读,才能对其中的某些论述获得更深入的见解。胡适对梁启超将清代学术比作文艺复兴表示不满,认为只有正在进行中的“新思潮”才称得上这个名号,不过胡、梁双方的主张后来也都有向对方靠近的趋势,表明他们对“文艺复兴”的认知主要还是在象征层面展开。文艺复兴的概念不仅塑造了梁启超对清学的认知,也参与了他对当代文化运动的构想。在他的方案中,后者既是对清学精神的承继,也是对其不足的弥补和超越,从而被赋予了一种“后文艺复兴”的意义。Liang Qichao’s use of the concept of Renaissance in theAcademic Outline of the Qing Dynasty(《清代学术概论》)related to his trip to Europe in 1919.It is necessary to read this book withA History of the European Renaissance(《欧洲文艺复兴史》)by Jiang Baili andReflections on Traveling in Europe(《欧游心影录》)by himself,in order to gain deeper understandings of Liang Qichao’s idea.Hu Shi was dissatisfied with Liang Qichao’s comparison of the Qing Dynasty scholarship to the European Renaissance,and he believed that only the ongoing New Thoughts could be called the Chinese Renaissance.However,Hu Shi and Liang Qichao’s propositions tended to be closer to each other later,indicating that their cognition of the“renaissance”was mainly carried out at the symbolic level.The concept of renaissance not only shaped Liang Qichao’s cognition of the academic history of the Qing Dynasty,but also participated in his conception of the contemporary cultural movement.In his scheme,the latter not only inherited the spirit of Qing scholarship,but also made up for and surpassed its deficiency,so it was endowed with a sort of“post-renaissance”significance.
