摘　　要：“刚柔”作为中国文论的核心思想之一,其外传因经典文献的英译得以产生。《文心雕龙》作为“刚柔”思想发展历程中的重要节点,在英译过程中,译者大多有意识地将“刚柔”的英译选词与“人”结合,借助“人性”来阐释“文性”。人道与文道之间的互释互证,反映了“刚柔”概念独有的包容性与普适性。与此同时,译者在外译过程中有时也会因其对“刚柔”的理解不同,而出现“悟译”现象,通常表现在三个方面:其一,自觉借用目的语语境中相似观念,增强西方读者对“刚柔”思想的理解与接受度;其二,巧用非对立性词语,暗示“刚”“柔”之间辩证统一关系;其三,运用内涵丰富的单词,扩大“刚柔”在异质文化中的适用范围。这种带有规律性的“悟译”现象,不仅为中国文论如何有效进行域外传播提供方法上的指导,也为我们如何深入、全面地理解中国文论本身提供思路。As one of the core ideas of Chinese literary theory,the overseas dissemination of“vigorous and soft”is produced by the English translation of classical documents. Wen Xin Diao Long is an important node in the development of vigorous and soft thought. In the process of English translation,most translators consciously combine the“vigorous and soft”English translation words with people,and interpret the characteristics of the text with the help of human nature. The mutual interpretation and verification between people and literature reflects the unique inclusiveness and universality of the concept of “vigor and softness”. At the same time,translators sometimes have creative mistranslation due to their different understandings of“vigorous and soft”thought. This phenomenon is usually manifested in three aspects:first,consciously borrowing similar ideas in the context of the target language to enhance Western readers’ understanding and acceptance of vigorous and soft thought;second,skillfully using non antagonistic words to imply the dialectical unity between “vigorous”thought and“soft”thought;third,using words with rich connotation to expand the scope of application of“vigorous and soft”thought in heterogeneous cultures. This creative mistranslation phenomenon with regularity not only provides methodological guidance for the effective extraterritorial dissemination of Chinese literary theory,but also provides ideas for us to deeply and comprehensively understand Chinese literary theory itself.
