The relationship between identity and language is close. As the identity of the Indonesian Chinese immigrants changes with time, the inheritance of the Chinese language has gone through three stages:The first stage sees that the Chinese have maintained their cultural identity, and the inheritance of the consciousness of the Chinese language has begun to emerge, but it is still fragile and easily affected. In the second stage, the Chinese have had themselves identified with the Chinese nation and China, and the inheritance of the Chinese language has developed rapidly. In the third stage, the Chinese have had themselves identified with the Chinese nation in terms of ethnic identity, and then with Indonesia in terms of national identity. They have actively transformed the inheritance of the Chinese language and sought new development opportunities. The identity of overseas Chinese immigrants has a significant impact on the inheritance of the Chinese language.Under the new language ecology, the maintenance of the heritage language of the overseas Chinese relies on multi-approaches to their identity of the Chinese nation.
