The present study used two experiments were to investigate the relationship between body size and social exclusion in male college students and the mediating effect of attractiveness and fundamental dimensions of social cognition on body size and social exclusion. The results showed that:(1)obese male college students were more likely to suffer from social exclusion;(2)Men showed stronger intentions to exclude obese homosexuals, while women showed a stronger tolerance towards men;(3)Attractiveness and enthusiasm played a mediating role between body size and social exclusion, and gender differences were present in the mediating path, obesity significantly predicted the attractiveness of female subjects and the rejection intention of male subjects. Both studies show that compared with other body size, the body sizes of obese male college students will suffer more social exclusion.Attraction and enthusiasm factors play an intermediary role between body type and social exclusion, and gender differences are shown in the results.
