摘 要:本文从语用综观视角,以马瑞志《世说新语》英译本为语料,探讨译者如何跨越源语与目标语之间语言与文化的差异,进行语言结构、交际语境的顺应以及动态顺应和意识突显,从而推动中华典籍中酒文化的跨文化传播。研究表明,在《世说新语》的酒文化英译中,不论是文本表层的语言表达还是深层的社会文化,译者都主动选择顺应,并保持在动态顺应的过程中,既顺应源语文化也考虑到目标语文化,使目标读者更深入地理解中华典籍,也使中国的酒文化得到更为广泛的传播效果。本文还发现译者通过采用音译、意译加音译等方法对酒文化中酒器名称的翻译体现出较高程度的意识突显。马瑞志在以上几个方面做出积极的顺应,使得《世说新语》实现较为理想的语用效果,对中国酒文化的跨文化传播具有借鉴意义。From the perspective view of pragmatics,this paper takes Richard B.Mather’s Shih shuo Hsin yü:A New Account of Tales of the World as the corpus to explore how the translator crosses over the linguistic and cultural differences between the source language and target language to achieve the context,structure,dynamics and salience of adaptation,so as to promote the cross cultural communication of wine culture in Chinese classics.The study shows that in the English translation of wine culture in Shih shuo Hsin yü:A New Account of Tales of the World,the translator dynamically adapts to both the linguistic expressions of the text and the deeper social culture,taking into account both the source and target culture,so that readers can understand the Chinese classics more deeply and the Chinese wine culture can be more widely disseminated.The paper also finds that the translator demonstrates a high degree of salience during the translation of the names of wine vessels by using transliteration and free translation plus transliteration.Mather’s positive adaptation to these aspects has achieved a more desirable pragmatic effect for Shih shuo Hsin yü:A New Account of Tales of the World,which has a certain reference significance for cross cultural dissemination of Chinese wine culture.
