As a feudal dynasty consolidating imperial power and maintaining social stability, the military examination system is jointly called the imperial examination system with the liberal arts system, which is of great significance in promoting the development of China’s education, culture and military. With the help of ARCGIS10.2 analysis tool, combined with research methods such as literature research, mathematical statistics, and historical analysis, this paper analyzes the spatial and temporal distribution pattern of the imperial examinations in the Ming Dynasty. The results show that the number of scholars who entered the imperial examinations in the Ming Dynasty was concentrated in the middle and late Ming Dynasty. Since the promulgation of the Wuju Law by Emperor Xiaozong of the Ming Dynasty, they were mainly distributed in the period of Emperor Shizong of the Ming Dynasty and Emperor Shenzong of the Ming Dynasty, followed by Emperor Chongzhen of the late Ming Dynasty; From the perspective of space, in the Ming Dynasty, the number of candidates for military examinations was mainly in the southeast coastal provinces and the northern frontier provinces, while the number in the central and western provinces was less "hollow". The reasons for this phenomenon are analyzed, which are mainly affected by geopolitical changes, economic patterns, military wars, changes in the military examination system and other factors, resulting in the space-time distribution of the military examination system in the Ming Dynasty.
