摘 要:体认翻译学认为翻译是一种体认活动。翻译中的“模仿”是必然的,可由“体”来保证;翻译中的“创造性”也是不可避免,是由“认”来体现。美国翻译家史蒂芬·米歇尔根据自身经验和现实语境对《道德经》所表达的有关现实世界和认知世界的各类意义进行了类比性的互动体验,并运用感觉知觉、意象图式、隐转喻、关联、识解等认知加工方式将这些意义映射进译入语,通过对应、增删、置换、转喻、改写等“创”“仿”手段对这些意义进行了现代化的加工和转换,体现了译者在翻译过程中的主观能动性,同时也使现代的美国读者在熟悉的现实空间中促发了相似的认知体验,从而更好地理解《道德经》在时代语境下所生成的新意义。Embodied-Cognitive Translatology holds that translation is an embodied-cognitive activity.“Imitation”in translation is inevitable and can be guaranteed by“ti(embodiment)”.“Creativity”in translation is also inevitable,which is incorporated within“ren(recognition)”.Based on his personal experience and real-world context,American translator Stephen Mitchell made an analogical interaction with various meanings in the real and the cognitive worlds expressed in Tao Te Ching,and mapped these meanings into the translated version employing sensation,perception,image schema,metonymy,relevance and construal.Through correspondence,addition,deletion,replacement,metonymy,rewriting and other methods of“creation”and“imitation”,these meanings are processed and transformed into modern ones,which reflects the subjective initiative of translators in the translation process and also enables modern American readers to experience similar cognitive experience in their familiar real world,so as to better understand the new meaning generated by Tao Te Ching in the new era context.
